The University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando has announced the winners of its most prestigious student award. According to UCF, more than 80 students were nominated for their highest student honor.

Inspired by one of the most recognized creatures in Greek mythology, the Order of Pegasus Award is presented in recognition of outstanding achievements in academics, university involvement, leadership, and community service. Graduate students are selected based on the same merits as well as publication or research experiences.

This year’s recipients are in a wide array of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, majoring in biology, biomedical sciences, conservation biology, computer science, industrial engineering, health sciences, social work, nursing,  human communication,  music education, public administration, and nonprofit management, innovation, and education.

In celebration of this year’s winners, Dr. Alexander N. Cartwright, president of the University of Central Florida, posted this message to Twitter:

Exemplary students at UCF have been recognized since 2001. The Order of Pegasus website has a photo of the lounge in the Student Union, where each year a plaque is added to the wall honoring the inductees. Click here to view. The 2021 winners will be honored at a ceremony on March 26.
