According to the organization’s website, the Online $1000 Scholarship Application for 2023-2024 is open until 5:00 p.m. on July 15. To be eligible, an applicant must be a Texas Tech University student without a Raiders Rojos scholarship. Among other requirements listed, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.25.
Last year, Raiders Rojos awarded 15 “retention scholarships” to Texas Tech University (TTU) students who completed one full semester of study at Texas Tech and met the minimum cumulative GPA requirement. Click here to see photos taken at the award event.
TTU’s 2022 President’s Annual Report highlights include 6,850 first-year student enrollment and a record 7, 204 graduate enrollment. More than 4 400 students were designated Presidential Merit Scholars.
The Raiders Rojos Alumni Network states that it aims to assist the institution with maintaining the status of a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). It also seeks to promote Hispanic students’ retention and graduation attainment within the TTU System by providing scholarships, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
Each year, the Solidaridad Inspiración Amistad Community Foundation, Inc. and Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. award the Excelen-ΣΙΑ Academic Scholarship to an individual embarking upon their first or second academic year at a two-year or four-year institution of higher learning. Applications must be received by July 15.
The total award is $1,000, presented as a one-time payment. The candidate selected for the scholarship award will receive formal notification by August 16, 2023. Click here for more information.
