Summer Amazon game design internship accepting applications

Summer is quickly approaching, and some students are looking forward to time off while others are searching for internship and volunteer opportunities that will help them advance in their careers. Amazon not only employs a number of STEM professionals, but also offers internship opportunities for students looking for something to keep them occupied while they are out of school.

Amazon Games Studio is currently accepting applications for their game designer internship for summer 2022. In this position you will design, craft, and implement gameplay experiences such as new weapons, AI characters for combat, and other gameplay features, execute and assess your work to the game design standard set by your team, iterate design work based on feedback, and learn to write design documents in alignment with team standards.

“In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer,” Amazon states on their website. “No matter the location of your internship, we give you the tools to own your summer and learn in a real-world setting.”

To be eligible for this position you must currently be working towards a bachelor’s in game design, human-centered interaction, animation, computer science, or other equivalent discipline, have creative materials demonstrating past work experience and deliverables in game design, and have knowledge of fundamental aspects of game design, including how to influence and execute game design, and balance or iterate upon a feature.

This internship is full-time (40 hours) weekly for 12 weeks from May- July 2022. Applicants should have at a minimum one semester remaining after their internship concludes.
