You have to wait another seven months for the next Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Conference, but IISE is inviting graduate and undergraduate Industrial and Systems Engineering students to share abstracts of their work ahead of the IISE Conference & Expo in New Orleans. Submissions opened September 16, and the deadline for abstracts is November 8. According to the announcement, abstracts will share experiences, applications, research, and lessons learned with others.
During the 2019 Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Conference and Expo, a senior industrial engineering student in the Department of Engineering and Technology at Texas A&M University-Commerce, was a third-place winner in the Operations Research Division. His project was focused on “Location Allocation of Autonomous Vehicle Stations in Frisco, Texas.”

Industrial and Systems Engineering society and division awards recognize a range of accomplishments. They include development of the use of industrial engineering tools in a construction environment, use of industrial engineering tools in a data analytics and information systems environment, business initiatives for the mobile apps in the field of industrial and systems engineering, technical contribution to manufacturing and design, the use of industrial engineering tools in a engineering economy environment, outstanding papers in the field of logistics and supply chain, leadership in public and community matters, the manufacturing engineering profession or the manufacturing industry, lean research and practices, quality and/or reliability engineering research and practice.
