The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has come together with leading Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HS) to provide students an opportunity to interview with employers who are hiring for full-time positions, part-time jobs, and internships. The HSI Career Collaborative will host the HSI Virtual Career Fair on Thursday, February 24.
For the second year, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will join the HSI Career Collaborative Virtual Fair. TAMIU director of Career Services Yelitza Howard said over 170 top employers will participate in the virtual event, offering one-on-one and group sessions, providing employment and career growth opportunities. The HSI Virtual Career Fair will be presented via Handshake, an online recruiting platform for higher education students and alumni.
“Employers were impressed with Fair participants last year and we’ve seen a 20% increase this year in participating employers,” Howard said. “It’s gratifying to know that this increase will further fuel the HSI Career Collaborative’s mission to promote social mobility and economic prosperity in underserved communities by recruiting, retaining, and graduating students while creating career growth opportunities for students and alumni.”
The HSI Virtual Career Fair will provide participants a chance to learn about career opportunities at Accenture Federal Services, Autodesk, Amazon, Qualtrics, National Security Agency, Toyota, Union Pacific Railroad, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Walmart Corporate, WarnerMedia, Wells Fargo, Yahoo! and more.
The HSI Virtual Career Fair is also attended and supported by AbbVie, CrowdStrike, Inc., Allogene Therapeutics, PepsiCo, Southwest Airlines, Synopsys Inc., and Meta.
