The City of Davis closed this weekend due to downed power lines, and some streets will likely stay closed until Monday, January 9, or later. Hopefully, the situation will be back to normal for the University of California, Davis GradPathways Institute Annual Professional Development Fair, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 in the Graduate Center at Walker Hall.

According to UC Davis, PG&E crews are restoring power to student housing affected by the storm. The university is setting up centers for students at the ARC Ballroom and Regan main building. The Segundo and Tercero service center buildings, Memorial Union, Shields Library, and other core campus buildings are open and have power for warming and charging devices. Classes are expected to be held in person on Monday since the central campus has power and internet.

The GradPathways Institute Annual Professional Development Fair is open to all UC Davis graduate students. Postdoctoral scholars are also invited to the annual fair. The campus event is a one-stop shop for career and professional development information from resource providers and experts. The list includes the Biotechnology Program, Chancellor’s Graduate and Professional Advisory Board, Counseling Services, DataLab: Data Science and Informatics; ESTEME; Field Research Safety; Global Learning Hub; Graduate Diversity Officers; and Graduate Studies Mentoring.

Resource providers include the Graduate Writing Fellows; the Humanities Institute; Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; International & Academic English; Internship and Career Center; Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Learning, Teaching, and Assessment; Professors for the Future; Public Scholarship & Engagement; Translational Research Education and Development, CTSC; Ombuds Office; Sacramento Valley Association for Women in Science; Science Says; UC Davis Library- Researcher Services; and the GradPathways Institute for Professional Development.
