The deadline for participant/attendee registration is February 17, 2023. Oklahoma Research Day is a state-wide research event hosted by the Oklahoma Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (OKEPSCoR), Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and the National Science Foundation.

The conference showcases undergraduate and graduate student research, creative, and scholarly projects in the form of poster and oral presentations.

The annual event aims to increase the state’s research competitiveness through the support of research instruments and facilities, research collaborations, and integrated education and research programs.

During the 2022 Research Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma, Amy Killmer, a student at College of the Muscogee Nation, a tribal college in Okmulgee, gave a presentation on land mass loss erosion near the North Canadian River.

In 2020, student researchers from more than 20 colleges and universities presented research topics on water quality, bullying, brain cancer, mathematical modeling, nanomaterials, and mental health to the public and state legislators.

According to the NSF, in the past five years, EPSCoR-supported outreach engaged over 6,800 faculty in academic institutions, more than 18,000 K-12 teachers, and over 309,000 K-12 students. More than 480 minority graduate and undergraduate students involved in EPSCoR projects attained their degrees. EPSCoR jurisdictions have received 64 new patents and leveraged over $1.4 billion in new awards.
