POSTED ON Feb 17, 2020

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) announced a new survey for Engineers Week (February 16–22). According to NSPE, the survey results will be shared on World Engineering Day: March 4. This year’s Engineers Week theme is Engineers: Pioneers of Progress.

Each year since 1951, EWeek has been dedicated to increasing interest in engineering and technology careers, promoting the contribution of engineers, technicians, and technologists, as well as math, science, and technology literacy.

EWeek reaches schools, businesses, and community groups across the United States through engineering, education, and cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies. Click here for more information on the Global Engineer Survey during Engineers Week.

Other activities taking place in the coming weeks include the Future City Competition Finals Ceremony, Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, Girl Day Hill Event, World Engineering Day.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (February 20, Girl Day) helps focus a growing movement to inspire girls’ futures so they learn they have a place in engineering a better world.

The Global Marathon For, By and About Women in Engineering and Technology (March 11 to April 8) is a FREE series of conversations, providing the opportunity to learn and engage about women in engineering and technology.

On the Global Day of the Engineer (March 4), people around the world are encouraged to share photos of various engineering celebrations they have been a part of, honor colleagues, family, and friends who are engineers, share photos of engineering wonders,  and engage students in engineering activities.

All year round, Changing the Conversation encourages more effective communication to the public about engineering and engineers, and how young people can be encouraged to make a difference in the world through an engineering career.
