UCI News has announced that this year’s Games + Learning + Society (GLS) Conference will convene from June 15 to 17. Organizers plan to bring video game researchers and developers together to explore gaming. According to the University of California, Irvine, all proposals for game research and development should be submitted by February 1st.
The event will incorporate paper presentations, panel discussions, interactive posters, and fireside chats. Confirmed speakers include Henry Jenkins, a professor at the University of Southern California (USC), and Noah Falstein, a former chief game designer at Google.
Keynote speakers include:
“The GLS Conference has been going strong since 2005, and we are excited to be presenting it for the first time here in Southern California, home to the nation’s biggest global entertainment and interactive media community,” said conference chair Constance Steinkuehler, UCI professor of informatics and chair of the game design and interactive media program. “GLS 2022 will be held in our newly renovated conference center at the heart of the UCI campus,” Steinkuehler said. “In addition to opportunities to learn, network and connect, the conference will feature many of our signature community events but now with a SoCal flair.”
