The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced that the 36th annual conference will take place October 8-10 and feature fifty workshops that address the theme, “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Rebuilding a More Resilient and Inclusive America,” in six tracks.

The conference will be held in person at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, Oct. 8-10, 2022, along with its pre-and post-conference events. Workshops will highlight programs and strategies that embrace and foster the educational success of Hispanic students and faculty.

Workshop topics include social mobility for Hispanic STEM Students; academic success for Hispanic students in STEM degrees; resource centers that empower Hispanic students, equity gaps and graduation rates for Latinx students, partnerships for Latinx success, Latinx students in education abroad; and metrics for institutional transformation at Hispanic-Serving Institutions.

Other topics include addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion, Hispanic-Serving Research Institutions, faculty teaching first-year students; culturally responsive teaching practices for faculty; and binational adults on the U.S.A.-Mexico border.

Speakers have also been announced for the Deans’ Forum on Hispanic Higher Education taking place, on Oct. 11 in San Diego, CA. The post-conference event is part of HACU’s 36th Annual Conference in San Diego, CA. Oct. 8-10.

HACU represents more than 500 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, Spain, and U.S. school districts. According to HACU, although member institutions in the U.S. represent only 17% of all higher education institutions nationwide, together they are home to two-thirds of all Hispanic college students. HACU is the only national educational association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).
