GoFundMe and FWD.us have launched a new hub for Dreamers

POSTED ON Aug 28, 2018

GoFundMe and FWD.us have launched a new hub enabling Dreamers to quickly start a GoFundMe to pay the $495 DACA renewal application fee. This online hub will also allow GoFundMe donors to support protect Dreamers.

The fundraising partnership comes almost a year after the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), issued a position statement on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“Dreamers, who were brought here by their parents as children, are in search of that same American dream,” said GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon in a statement. “We’re proud to stand up for Dreamers, and I encourage everyone to take action for the talented young people who call this country home.”

Roughly 800,000 promising young people have received renewable two-year permits to live in the United States while they work, study, and support their families. Dreamers are — for the moment — able to renew their DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) protections.

“We are proud of this new partnership with GoFundMe and we thank them for their ardent support to Dreamers during such a critical time,”  said FWD.us President Todd Schulte.

Tens of thousands of people have already donated over $200,000 to help Dreamers renew their applications. To view the page, please visit GoFundMe.com/DACA.
