Carlos Amésquita earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú), and a Master of Science in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined The Hershey Company, one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the world, in 2014, as chief information officer (CIO). Before then, he spent 28 years with The Procter & Gamble Company.

At the multinational consumer goods corporation, he served in various leadership roles including CIO and shared services leader for North America in 2011, global household care CIO in 2009, global food & beverage CIO in 2000, and Latin America CIO in the late 1990s.

As Hershey’s CIO, Amésquita led one of the broadest digital programs in the industry. His areas of expertise are information technology (IT), IT digital strategy, and digital transformation, including enterprise resource planning, analytics, digital commerce, and retail execution.

Currently, he works as an independent advisor for ForgePoint Capital’s Cybersecurity Council, and also serves as a strategic advisor for Zscaler, which is responsible for providing cloud-delivered security as a service for more than 400 of the Forbes Global 2000 companies.

In the community, he serves as an advisory board member to the President of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a member of the Tricentis Growth Advisory Board, and also sits on the Board of Incture Technologies and is a Member of the Board of Directors for The HITEC Foundation.
