POSTED ON Aug 13, 2020

CareerBuilder, a human capital solutions company, says the pandemic’s impact is far from over and rehiring is not happening equally.  Unemployment rates by demographic for July were 9.2 percent for men, women (10.5 percent), White workers (9.2 percent), Asian workers (12 percent), Hispanic workers (12.9 percent) and Black workers (14.6 percent).

According to CareerBuilder’s hiring data and insights, industries bringing back jobs include leisure and hospitality, retail, as well as professional and business services. Other industries that continue to see gains are health care, social assistance, transportation and warehousing.

During July, CareerBuilder noted job growth in the agriculture, forestry and hunting sector. Their data shows that the 10 fastest-growing industries are:

  • Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting
  • Transportation and warehousing
  • Real estate rental and leasing
  • Retail trade
  • Mining
  • Health care and social assistance
  • Wholesale trade
  • Professional, scientific and technical services
  • Construction
  • Finance and insurance

The top 10 fastest growing jobs, based on the number of jobs posted during the weeks of July 20 through August 2, were real estate agent ($103,500), non-farm animal caretaker ($41,500), tutor ($54,000), home health ($53,500) taxi drivers and chauffeurs ($51,00).
