POSTED ON Nov 10, 2020

Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC), which enrolls 18,000 students every year, recently announced that they have received a $2.9M grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Title V: Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) program.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution and being a recipient of this prestigious HSI grant,” said BHCC President Pam Eddinger. “Through this funding, BHCC will be able to implement a multipronged approach to improve service and support for our Hispanic and Latinx students.”

The HSI grant, awarded over five years, will impact BHCC’s capacity to improve outcomes for Hispanic/Latinx and low-income students. This HSI designation is in addition to the 2016 designation as an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution.
