Art in STEM: 2018 Hispanic Heritage Month Art Contest

POSTED ON Sep 13, 2018

There’s still time to apply for this year’s Youth Art Contest in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The annual contest inspires students to be creative with art to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

This year’s theme is “Family, Friend, and Fiesta through Education and Awareness.”

Open to all K–12 students, the artwork will be judged on its relationship to this year’s theme. The deadline is September 17.  Submissions can be dropped off at designated locations in Albuquerque from September 14–17.

The Hispanic Leadership Outreach Committee at Sandia National Laboratories is partnering with Kirtland Air Force Base, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Sandia Site Office, and NNSA Albuquerque Complex to sponsor its Annual Youth Art Contest in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15).
