The White House has released the 2022 Proclamation on National Hispanic Heritage Month. “Since the beginning, our country has drawn strength and insights from Hispanic writers, scientists, soldiers, doctors, entrepreneurs, academics, and leaders in labor and government,” the document said.

“Our culture has been enriched by the rhythms, art, literature, and creativity of Hispanic people,” the document continued. “And our deepest values have been informed by the love of family and faith that is at the core of so many Hispanic communities. All of these contributions help us realize the promise of America for all Americans.”

All month long (September 15 to October 15) Hispanic Engineer magazine will honor Hispanic/Latino Americans as we celebrate their accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

Rumba Meats, part of the Cargill family of brands, has announced a partnership with the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute, to award 25 post-secondary academic scholarships of $1,000 each.

Cargill Global Scholars is a scholarship program that selects 60 students to participate in a yearlong immersion program. Learn more at https://www.cargillglobalscholars.com/.

If awarded the scholarship, recipients are required to provide a two-minute video articulating how their Hispanic heritage has influenced their life and how they plan to preserve it throughout their life.

Applicants should describe family history (parents/guardian, siblings), life, and work experiences that have influenced them, and their most significant achievement.

Did you overcome any obstacles or challenges? If so, how? (500-1,000 words). How has your Hispanic heritage influenced how you live your life? What impact has it had on your leadership aspirations?
