Apply for the PMAHCC Scholarship before April 30

The Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its scholarship program. Applicants must currently reside or have plans to reside in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Westmoreland, or Washington counties.

According to the chamber of commerce, recipients of the scholarship will be awarded one grant of up to $2,000, payable to the school that the recipient is enrolled in or has been accepted to. Students from two- or four-year colleges or universities, vocational, or technical schools are encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates, including past recipient awardees, may re-apply, provided applicants meet requirements.

Applicants must:

  • Demonstrate unmet financial need of at least $1,000 after the financial aid award package has been determined
  • Have at least one parent of Hispanic ancestry (one of the applicant’s grandparents must be Hispanic)
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Community involvement is required.
