This year’s schedule includes a STEM Activity Day, a Mini-Hackathon, a College Hackathon, poster research presentations, a STEM & Business seminar, and the State of AISES report.

Seminars include Natives in the Intelligence Community; geospatial representation; the social and economic benefits of video gaming in Indian Country; connecting student video game interests to success in STEM; career development funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA); and applying for federal jobs and internships.

Other workshops will feature Natives at NASA; Indigenous scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey; and STEM graduate students working in Indigenous Communities to co-solve food, energy, and water challenges.

AISES members will also share best practices on inclusive spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning, and Two-Spirit relatives; Tribal partnerships for water resource projects; a history of STEM in Native American Indigenous cultures; and a Native Artisan marketplace.

Attendees include Indigenous high school and college students, educators, and professionals, including representatives from Tribal Nations, Tribal enterprises, and Indigenous-owned businesses.

The conference includes a college and career fair for Indigenous students and professionals. Exhibitors at the College and Career fair represent various corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, Tribes, and Indigenous-owned businesses.
