Si Se Puede Foundation has partnered with Arizona State University to create a women’s autonomous underwater vehicle team called Desert Wave: Women in Autonomous Vehicle Engineering. The rookie team is looking forward to competing in the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s annual RoboSub competition.

Click here to learn more about the team as they prepare for this rigorous competition where up to 40 teams compete from over 12 countries.

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics.

AUVSI represents corporations and professionals from more than 60 countries involved in an industry, government, and academia. AUVSI members work in the defense, civil and commercial markets.

RoboSub is an underwater robotics program in which teams of students from around the world design and build an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. These vehicles are designed to autonomously navigate through a series of tasks. These tasks mimic ongoing research in Autonomous Underwater Systems.

Registration for the 22nd International RoboSub Competition is now open. Student eligibility runs from middle school to undergraduate and graduate.

The 2019 International RoboSub Competition will take place July 29 – August 4, 2019, at SSC Pacific TRANSDEC in San Diego, California.
