On September 29, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) partnered with Amazon to organize Robotics at Amazon Day.

The event was a one-day career enrichment summit that brought undergraduate students together to learn about emergent technologies and explore career opportunities.

Additionally, on the same day, HACU hosted an Emerging Leaders’ Summit at St. Mary’s University.

The summit was aimed at preparing students for internships and career opportunities in various fields.

Over 100 students from 25 colleges and universities participated in the summit.

In 2022, Jose L. attended HACU’s annual conference in San Diego with a stack of resumes, hoping to connect with companies.

There, he met Nancy Solis, a recruiter for Cintas, who offered him a position as a Cintas Management Trainee.

The Cintas’ Management Trainee program identifies promising graduates and provides them with the tools to succeed in leadership roles.

Cintas builds sustainable leadership by recruiting these graduates and promoting them from within.

Jose was hired as a First Aid & Safety partner in Ontario, California, on June 8, 2023. He is part of TODOS, Cintas’ Partner Business Resource Group (PBRG), which is dedicated to supporting Hispanic and Latin partners.

As a first-generation college graduate, Jose’s roots have become increasingly important to him as he has grown older. He hopes to someday teach First Aid and CPR classes in Spanish.
