The first 10-week session began on June 12 with 22 students, and the second one-week session with 16 students on July 10. During the summer, RCC students will attend workshops and participate in a conference on August 10, which is open to the campus.

CSUSB faculty will provide mentored research experience to the RCC students, consisting of research activities related to an existing project or a research project designed to introduce students to STEM research.

The partnership between CSUSB and RCC is the result of a collaborative effort between Ryan Keating, CSUSB director of the Office of Student Research, and Virginia White, professor of life sciences and director of the Outdoor Plant Laboratory at RCC.

Boeing has launched its Accelerated Leadership Program (ALP) in partnership with the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, offering sophomore students paid summer internships, full tuition and expenses for their junior and senior years, and a full-time position at Boeing after graduation.

The program is aimed at identifying, supporting, and investing in future leaders of the company. USC Viterbi’s seven sophomore engineering students were selected for the highly selective program, out of 199 candidates who were interviewed in 2023.

Boeing’s ALP program aims to help develop future Boeing leaders by providing a range of engineering and product-focused activities, including access to top-level leadership. The ALP cohort comprises students from six partner universities, including USC Viterbi, and is a continuation of Boeing’s long-standing partnership with USC Viterbi.

The selected students are enthusiastic about starting their five-year journey with Boeing. They will have access to hands-on experience on cutting-edge engineering projects, specialized learning and leadership development opportunities, and a mentoring program with senior company leaders.
