Empire State University‘s Winter 2024 Commencement took place in Albany, NY. Due to a high level of interest in attendance, SUNY Empire also announced a second ceremony.
The Winter 2024 Commencement ceremonies was scheduled for Friday, December 13 at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
The ceremonies were available to view via live stream.
Illinois State University‘s winter commencement was held over two ceremonies on Saturday, December 14.
Each ceremony featured a student processional, speeches from university officials, and the presentation of diploma covers as graduates crossed the stage when their names are called.
More than 1,350 students from Illinois State University graduated this December, including over one thousand undergraduates and around 300 graduate students.
More than 200 of these students graduated with honors, achieving a GPA of 3.65 or higher. Additionally, nine students will earn two degrees simultaneously.
Approximately 40 military-connected graduates, including veterans and current National Guard and Reserve members, participated, and the youngest graduate was just 20 years old.
Graduates hailed from more than 23 states.
The most common undergraduate major was elementary education, while the most common undergraduate minor was Spanish. Common graduate programs included education, computer science, and nursing.
