The College of Engineering at the University of Texas El Paso has set a new record by having five women graduate with doctoral degrees.
This achievement was celebrated during the recent commencement ceremonies where over 3,000 graduates became UTEP alumni.
The spring commencement was held on May 11 and May 12 at the Don Haskins Center.
Graduates from the College of Liberal Arts, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Science, Woody L. Hunt College of Business, and School of Pharmacy were all recognized.
Trinity Costa, who is a second-generation UTEP alum, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the College of Science.
She is a leader on campus and actively participates in multiple groups.
Additionally, Tristan Hernandez, aged 24, was the youngest school board member in Texan districts’ history while pursuing his Bachelor’s in Multidisciplinary Studies at UTEP.
He also pioneered a mentorship program for students like him and graduated with his bachelor’s degree this weekend.
