In March 2025, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) released the “Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps – 4th Edition 2025.” This bi-annual ranking highlights the top 50 artificial intelligence (AI) first web products and AI-first mobile apps.

Among the 50 GenAI web products, ranked by unique monthly visitors, are well-known names like ChatGPT, Deepseek, Perplexity, JantorAI, Calude, QuillBo, and Suno.

For the mobile apps, ChatGPT leads the top 50 Gen AI mobile apps, followed by Nova AI Chatbot, Microsoft Edge, Baidu AI Search, Photomath, Quark AI Assistant, Doubao, and Character.ai.

Other notable apps include Copilot, ranked No. 42, and Gemini, ranked No. 22.

In April, a podcast conducted an in-depth analysis of the “Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps – 4th Edition 2025” and discussed how AI tools are evolving from intriguing novelties to daily essentials.

The article examined how these leading AI applications transitioned from obscurity to mainstream popularity in half the time it took previous technologies to achieve the same level of popularity.

It also addressed the thriving nature of AI solutions, recent breakthroughs in AI video generation, the discrepancy between large user bases and niche revenue streams, the importance of subscriptions for many tools, and how platforms are simplifying the software development process, enabling everyone from hobbyists to professional coders to create.

Earlier this week, Hispanic Engineer magazine’s online edition explored why a degree in computer science remains a valuable choice in the era of artificial intelligence.

We emphasize that obtaining internships can ease the job search process in the industry. Understanding how to find a job, network effectively, and present a strong portfolio with solid projects is crucial.

To become a programmer, online experts recommend selecting a mainstream programming language and starting with coding, gradually increasing complexity.

It’s essential to choose a specialty, such as desktop apps, mobile apps, web apps, or systems development, and to supplement your knowledge with fundamental computer science principles.

MIT OpenCourseWare can be a valuable resource for learning about data structures and algorithms, the basics of operating systems, concurrency, threading, memory management, database functionality, software design and architecture, software development practices, and concepts like compilers and linkers.

In related educational news, All4Ed, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding equitable educational opportunities, has announced that February 12, 2026, will be celebrated as Digital Learning Day.

This day aims to recognize and celebrate the digital learning practices that occur in classrooms across the country.

It highlights how teachers and students use digital tools daily to enhance education and spark creativity.

The day honors educators who leverage technology to empower and inspire their students, celebrates students’ creativity and adaptability in a digital world, and showcases schools that foster connection, engagement, and innovation through these tools.

This year’s event focused on celebrating the love of learning, teaching, and innovation.
