The University of Alaska Fairbanks celebrated its graduating class of 2025 during the Commencement Ceremony held on May 3, honoring the hard work the graduates have completed.
This 103rd commencement ceremony began with a hooding ceremony for Ph.D. recipients.
It included a recognition ceremony for undergraduate degree recipients, the commencement speaker, honorary degree recipients, Meritorious Service Award winners, and emeritus faculty and staff.
This year, the University celebrated the 2025 graduates. It acknowledged the individuals who made their journey memorable, including supportive family and friends and fellow students who encouraged one another to reach the finish line.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks showcased its outstanding undergraduate degree recipients and commencement speakers on social media.
Among them were Darya Kholodova, who received the Marion Frances Boswell Memorial Award for an excellent bachelor’s degree candidate; Sebastian Toscano-Arteaga, the recipient of the Joel Wiegert Award for an exceptional associate degree candidate; and Sarah Manriquez, who was awarded the Gray S. Tilly Memorial Award for recognizing an outstanding nontraditional graduating candidate.
