In 2021, Texas Tech University held what was billed as “a triumphant return to almost normal” graduation ceremony. The well-attended event brought together nearly 1,600 graduates for an open celebration in Jones AT&T Stadium.
This fall, Texas Tech announced a 12th-class-day enrollment number of over 41,000 for the first time in the university’s history.
In addition, Texas Tech awarded a record 9,994 degrees for the 2024 academic year and achieved record four and six-year graduation rates of 50% and 66%, respectively.
Also noteworthy is a 20% increase in the four-year graduation rate over the past five years.
Alternative pathways to help non-traditional students reach their academic and career goals, such as a 10K Degree-Completion Program, are just some of the new initiatives offering students with at least 80 hours of college credit a pathway to complete their degree for as little as $10K by giving students credit for the work they’ve done and the knowledge they’re bringing back to school.
For the first time in its 25-year history, the Honors College enrollment has exceeded 2,000 students, with the incoming cohort up nearly 14% from last year’s group.
For the first time, Texas Tech has announced a 12th-class-day enrollment number over 41,000!
