Carissa Hernandez is the manager of the component engineering department within Raytheon Intelligence & Space. Her team of engineers and technical subject matter experts support the development of programs in the Space Mission area.
Carissa is also active with employee resource groups. She has served as a site director for the Raytheon Women’s Network (RWN) and as communications director for region west.
Carissa earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in materials science and engineering from the University of Arizona, where she held board and executive roles in the U of A chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). Today, she supports career development and hiring events hosted by SHPE and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Carissa has also held multiple board positions in her son’s high school marching band parent council. Recently, she co-chaired a fundraiser that raised over $7,000 and ran another fundraiser that raised over $16,000 for the marching band to attend a competition and cover band costs throughout the year.
