Antonio R. Flores is a leading voice for Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). He has served as president and CEO of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) for over twenty years. His advocacy has garnered over $3 billion in federal funding for HSIs.
These colleges and universities serve two-thirds of nearly 4 million Hispanic students in higher education across 38 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and include 35 universities in Latin America and Spain. Across the nation, HSIs now total 539, according to HACU’s analysis of 2018-19 data.
Hispanic Engineer magazine’s Top Hispanics of the Decade list features the most influential people in research and education, Space programs, information and communications technology, business, professional services, banking and investment, clean energy, and equal opportunity.
