In today’s world, virtual reality and augmented reality are buzz words. TikTok’s parent company, Bytdance, is planning to invest “tons of money” in virtual reality, according to a source.
The company is actively looking for people to fill these roles in the VR space. Job posts are mosty for locations in California and Washington, including positions like head of VR game strategy, game operation manager, optical engineer and systems design electric engineer.
Listing for the head of consumer sales in Pico indicates that the company wants to establish a presence in the US. According the The Verge, Bytedance will help Pico compete with mainstream headsets offered by Meta and PlayStation.
Pico’s flagship all-in-one headset, Pico Neo 3 Link launched in Europe in May for $472. They were similar to Meta Quest 2, which sell for $399. Both devices share 256GB storage, 1832 x 1920 resolution per eye and a Snapdragon XR2 chip.
