Some of the outstanding graduates recognized at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi included Odessey Ramos, Julie Romano (College of Engineering and Computer Science), and Daisy Lopez from the College of Science.
Amy Ayala and Kimberly Lopez, both from the College of Engineering, were also acknowledged for their exceptional academic performance, resilience, and significant contributions to the campus or community.
Priciliano Diaz III earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
As a member of the ROTC Islander Battalion, he was involved in planning complex training events and took part in the Cadet Troop Leader Training program at the U.S. Army’s Fort Lewis, Washington.
Diaz also achieved a perfect score during a marksmanship evaluation in the summer of 2023, a feat accomplished by only 3,400 cadets nationwide.
Diaz expressed his gratitude for the humbling experience of being part of the ROTC program, which taught him valuable lessons even in areas where he thought he was already proficient.
With a double minor in mathematics and military science, Diaz was a Dean’s List student, participated in a research assistantship, and will become a commissioned officer in the United States Army after graduation.
The commencement speaker, Garrett Frazier ’04, used his Bachelor of Business Administration from TAMU-CC to launch successful businesses, including an outdoor technical product company.
During his speech, Frazier shared advice with the new graduates about overcoming fears, valuing hard work, and taking ownership of their lives.
