GMiS recently shared their thoughts on the new administration’s executive and cabinet-level orders. Juan Rivera, Ph. D., the Chairman of the Board, and Peter Mellado, the new Executive Director, made the statement.

GMiS is a non-profit organization that has operated for nearly forty years. They help businesses and government agencies find top talent in engineering and science from colleges and universities across the country.

As partners in the public and private sectors adjust to new guidance from Washington, GMiS says they will find ways to support them.

The statement said GMiS is committed to promoting STEM careers to all Americans and helping our country stay strong in technology.

GMiS will continue to serve its stakeholders and work toward its mission: to inspire, support, and recognize students and professionals, especially those from underserved communities.

Their goal is to create a strong pool of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math dedicated to serving the nation.

For their sponsors, GMiS will be a key resource for STEM talent. They will help recruiters fill positions, from internships and entry-level jobs to senior leadership roles.

GMiS supports thousands of undergraduate and graduate students annually by offering scholarships, development programs, competitions, and networking opportunities to help them earn their STEM degrees and prepare for their careers.

In K-12 education, they are committed to raising awareness about STEM career opportunities and guiding students on their paths.

For their professional partners, they will maintain the high standards associated with our peer-reviewed awards. This way, they can continue highlighting our nation’s best technical talent as role models for STEM careers, just as they have done since 1989.
