Demetria F. Hall, a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., has come a long way since she decided to follow her passion for engineering and fight her fears. She was on the design team that built the F-35 jet fighter which is flying our military. To close out Women’s History Month, High-Tech Sunday hosts sat down with the two-time award winner at Career Communications Group’s Women of Color STEM and BEYA STEM conferences.
High-Tech Sunday’s podcast is produced by and for the Career Communications Group (CCG) community of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) award winners, thought leaders, and students, to bring a concentrated discussion around technological advancements and achievements based on universal moral principles.
Hall’s most accomplished design solved a critical issue on the original arresting hook design for the F-35 Carrier Variant. She is currently the Flight Simulation & STEM (FSS) Project Lead and has led the program for five years. In 2019, the FSS team completed 50 local and national events and impacted more than 30,000 students and professionals.
Hall is an active member of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics NSBE Professionals group. She also serves on the executive board, focusing on the Pre-College Initiative Committee and leading the annual College Prep Day. Hall also helped lead a weekly STEM mentoring program at Christene C. Moss Elementary School in Fort Worth, TX.
Starting from humble beginnings in a small refinery town in Texas, Demetria always had a love for math and science. She feels blessed to have a platform that enables her to engage students regularly.
