The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) has partnered with the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia to celebrate the national movement dedicated to demonstrating to girls how being an engineer can help change our world.
In the announcement, the Franklin Institute said it has joined the initiative to engage girls with a day full of hands-on activities exploring mechanical engineering, electrical, chemical, and more. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet local female engineers and understand the significant role they have in shaping the future.
The event is in recognition of National Engineers Week (February 16-22), dedicated to increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
Other participating partners include the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia, Society of American Military Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Philadelphia Section, Drexel University, American Society of Civil Engineers, Philadelphia YMF Section, Advancing Women in Transportation, WTS, International Society of Automation, and Urban Engineers, Inc.
