Applications for the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) National Undergraduate Scholarship must be submitted by February 1st.
The scholarship, awarded in May, helps students cover their college education expenses and encourages their involvement in AIPG.
Up to ten scholarships are available for undergraduate students majoring in geological sciences, provided they are at least sophomores.
Each scholarship is valued at $3,000 and is intended to assist with tuition and room and board for eligible students attending accredited colleges or universities in the U.S.
To be eligible, students must be majoring in geology or earth science, be at least sophomores, and be enrolled in a two-year or four-year accredited institution in the U.S.
Additionally, applicants must either be members of AIPG or have applied for student membership when submitting their scholarship application.
As a requirement for receiving the scholarship, awardees must write an article consisting of 600 to 800 words for publication in The Professional Geologist.
The article should focus on a relevant professional issue. Students must be enrolled in a geological science degree program as defined by the American Geosciences Institute.
