Great Minds in STEM is inviting companies, affinity groups, and individuals to partner with them in awarding tuition scholarships to their STEM Scholars. Since 2001, they have awarded over $6 million in scholarships, according to GMiS.
In 2024, Adriana Ocampo announced a partnership with Great Minds in STEM to offer a scholarship as a beacon of support and encouragement to female Hispanic students who exhibit exceptional academic merit, demonstrate leadership potential, and showcase a dedicated commitment to giving back to the STEM community.
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must demonstrate merit through their academic performance, leadership experience, and involvement in campus or community activities.
Applicants must be pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). For merit-based scholarships, applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
For non-merit-based donor scholarships, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants must demonstrate significant leadership or service within an underserved community.
Applicants may be enrolled full-time or part-time at the time of application and when the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must be enrolled in a STEM or health-related undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming fall semester at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the U.S. or its territories.
Individuals who have already earned a bachelor’s degree and are seeking support for a second bachelor’s degree, or those with a master’s degree seeking funding for another master’s degree, or individuals who have earned a doctoral degree and are seeking another doctoral degree, are ineligible to apply for this scholarship program.
