The AbbVie Immunology Scholarship offers financial assistance to students living with inflammatory diseases. This scholarship is available for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university or college in the United States.
To be eligible to apply, candidates must have completed high school or obtained a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
They must also have a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), atopic dermatitis (AD), Crohn’s disease (CD), hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), psoriasis (Ps), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ulcerative colitis (UC), or uveitis (UV) from a healthcare professional.
Additionally, applicants should be enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
According to AbbVie, more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. have benefited from the AbbVie Immunology Scholarship since its inception in 2016.
In August 2024, AbbVie announced the 2024-2025 recipients of the AbbVie Immunology Scholarship, aimed to support students living with chronic, inflammatory diseases as they pursue higher education.
AbbVie awarded scholarships to 45 recipients split equally among dermatology, gastroenterology and rheumatology therapeutic areas.
Qualified applicants were selected based on academic excellence, community leadership, essay submission and recommendation letters.
Students living with immune-mediated conditions across dermatology, gastroenterology and rheumatology seeking an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree are eligible to apply for the AbbVie Immunology Scholarship.
