Nevada State College, the only four-year public institution in Nevada, has announced a number of scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applications are available through April 15 and beyond.
Nevada State College (NSC) Foundation scholarship programs include the NSC General Scholarship which provides awards totaling $42,000. Science majors can apply for the Professor Jan Scholarship, Robert A. Swadell Memorial Scholarship, and the Cox Communications Scholarship.
According to the NSC Foundation website, nearly $300,000 in scholarships were awarded to NSC students in the 2018/2019 academic year. Click here for more information.
In addition to NSC Foundation programs, the university has also announced scholarships with cut-off dates that go beyond April 15. They include the Mentoring to Accelerate Retention and Change Outcomes in Science (MARCOS) Scholarship, which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Applications for MARCOS will be accepted on a rolling basis until July 15th, 2020. For more information, email marcos@nsc.edu.
There’s also the Scholarship Opportunity for DACA and DREAMer students.
As Hispanic people make up 29% of Nevada’s population, NSC is a proud partner of a national scholarship fund for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Temporary Protective Status eligible DREAMers.
Nevada State is encouraging current high school seniors, GED diploma holders, community college students, and community college graduates with a GPA of 3.0 to apply. Applications are open November 1- March 1.
