The Hispanic Heritage Foundation has announced that the 37th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards (HHAs) will be broadcast on Friday, Sept. 27, on PBS.
The HHAs, supported by 40 Hispanic-serving institutions, were established by The White House in 1988 to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month in America.
This year’s awardees include creator Rea Ann Silva, and Carmelo Anthony.
Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the partnership with PBS, Nationwide, the Kennedy Center, and all sponsors to celebrate and share the Latino community’s accomplishments, cultural pride, and great promise through the broadcast.
Sylvia Bugg, chief programming executive and general manager of General Audience Programming at PBS, also expressed her pride in distributing The Hispanic Heritage Awards to the audience and her honor in being part of the celebration.
The Hispanic Heritage Awards launched HHF’s year-round mission, which is focused on education, workforce, social impact, and culture through the lens of leadership.
