As students settle in for the fall semester, the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) encourages students to search for internships, scholarships, and other non-job opportunities on their hub for jobs and careers.

The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers recently held a resume presentation as part of its SHPE Career Catalyst Series. This webinar aimed to connect job seekers with employers and provided attendees with insider tips on what employers look for in candidates.

Participants had the opportunity for one-on-one resume reviews with company representatives and to polish their resumes.

Additionally, the Job & Internship Search session helped attendees refine their job and internship search strategies across two identical webinars.

Recruiters and hiring managers shared insights on where to find opportunities, offered dos and don’ts for resumes, and provided strategies to stand out in competitive applicant pools.

On September 10, SHPE will host the “Strategies for Career Growth” session, which is explicitly designed for early-career professionals.

This session will focus on how to take charge of your career growth by identifying development opportunities, refining your skills, maximizing your strengths, and networking.

Following that, the Interview Skills session on September 16 and 17 will provide a hands-on workshop to help improve interview techniques.

Students will learn how to formulate strong responses to interview questions, understand what to expect during interviews, and stand out as candidates. Breakout sessions will include mock interviews for real-time practice. Both sessions will cover the same material so that you can register for either one.

Additionally, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced an Aramark webinar on September 18.

This session will provide tips on preparing for interviews, an overview of various interview styles, and examples of how to answer common interview questions effectively. This webinar is specifically designed for students attending HACU-member institutions.

Lastly, the Boeing Company and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund have announced that applications are open for the Boeing | TMCF Scholar Program.

This program is not just a scholarship; it offers an extraordinary opportunity for a full-time career with the world’s largest aerospace company. Don’t miss your chance to shape the future of aerospace—apply by October 3!
