Lawrence Wagner, an eight-year Army veteran, and Joel Ramirez, also an Army Vet, are both working to offer new educational programs that give kids —particularly kids of color —opportunities to learn and earn credentials in the field of cyber security, a rapidly growing tech field.
“Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing STEM career fields,” said Wagner, co-founder and chief executive officer of Spark Mindset Inc. “Due to COVID-19, many companies are having their employees work remotely, and we are creating solutions to prepare their children to work in this new environment.”
According to Spark Mindset, the average Cybersecurity Analyst makes $78,000 annually, and the industry will have an estimated market size of 258 billion by 2025.
The Spark Mindset CyberSpace Virtual Academy Program, an online education service that prepares 6th- 12th grade students for a career in cyber security, starts September 14.
