Evelyn Nazario, the new vice chancellor for human resources at California State University, assumed the role as the university’s chief human resources officer on October 1. Nazario joined California State University in 2008. Before that, she was director of compensation and HR operations for the University of California, Irvine.
“Evelyn possesses a wealth of expertise and knowledge of both the CSU and higher education,” said California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White.

“The CSU boasts the nation’s most diverse student body, and our students benefit from an equally diverse and talented group of employees,” said Nazario. “I look forward to working with our many partners and stakeholders to fulfill the university mission as the key to California’s prosperity.”
In the role of vice chancellor for human resources, Nazario will serve as part of the chancellor’s executive leadership team and oversee human resource management, labor and employee relations, statewide professional development, equal opportunity and compliance, academic human resources and human resource policy development for the university.
