Many scholarships available, based on academics, athletics, art, and financial need

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) conducted a webinar titled “Partnerships to Champion Student Success” on December 6, 2023.

The webinar highlighted the need for colleges to increase the number of students graduating with post-secondary credentials to ensure economic opportunity.

In related news, HACU and the Chime Scholars Foundation have announced the names of 25 Chime Scholars from HACU-member institutions.

Chime Scholars will receive a scholarship of $3,000 and funding to attend the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute at HACU’s Annual Conference.

The 2023-24 Chime Scholars are from the following institutions: Begen Community College, Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY, Dominican University New York, Kean University, Montclair State University, New York Institute of Technology, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Newark Campus, Saint Elizabeth University, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, Texas Christian University, The Graduate Center, CUNY, The University of Texas at Arlington, University of California, San Francisco, the University of North Texas, and William Paterson University.

In addition, HACU has also announced that 68 students from HACU-member institutions will receive a Deloitte Foundation scholarship of $2,500 for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters.

These scholarships, funded by the Deloitte Foundation, are available to undergraduate students majoring in accounting, business, business administration, computer science, computer systems, cybersecurity, data analytics/business analytics, economics, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, finance, information systems, management information systems, marketing, mathematics, operations, supply chain and logistics, statistics, and technology.

Moreover, HACU, in partnership with the United Health Foundation, has awarded the Diversity in Health Care Scholarship to 95 students from HACU-member institutions.

These students will receive a renewable scholarship of $5,000 per year.

The scholarship is available to students pursuing degrees leading to clinical professional careers, such as physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, nurse, pharmacist, dentist, social worker, addiction counselor, clinical psychologist, or related clinical profession.

Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to attend the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute at HACU’s Annual Conference.
