Native Forward has announced the availability of the Direct Scholarship, designed to assist students in alleviating educational costs and continuing their pursuit of higher education.
The Direct Scholarship for Winter/Spring 2024-2025 is open to American Indian and Alaska Native students who are pursuing higher education.
To be eligible for the Native Forward Direct Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in a U.S. accredited institution and must be pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree in any field of study.
Additionally, they need to demonstrate an unmet financial need by completing a financial need form.
Applicants must not have previously received a Native Forward scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year.
They must be an enrolled member or a descendant of a federally or state-recognized Tribe.
They need to provide proof of Tribal enrollment, which can be a copy of their Certificate Degree of Indian Blood, a Tribal membership card, or a letter of enrollment/descendancy from the Tribal enrollment office.
The application deadline is December 2, 2024.
Recipients of the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) Scholarship are selected based on their academic excellence, community involvement, and financial need.
The application period for the 2024-2025 APIA Scholarship opened on November 15, 2024, and will close on January 15, 2025.
