The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and Capital One hosted a five-day immersion experience for college students from across the U.S. at Capital One Headquarters in McLean, Virginia, from July 7 to July 11.
Leslie Enriquez was among the students selected for the Capital One Launchpad: Legacy & Leadership Program, chosen from thousands of applicants.
Representing Saint Peter’s University, Leslie shared her excitement about the opportunity on LinkedIn.
During the program, Leslie participated in mentorship sessions and interactive workshops that focused on case analysis, mock interviews, and elevator pitches.
She had the chance to learn from Capital One leaders and former interns about the company’s culture and career opportunities.
One of her most memorable experiences was a team-based case competition, where participants developed credit line strategies for accounts of $10,000 and $20,000, culminating in presentations of their capstone projects to executives from Capital One.
Out of 16 impressive teams, Leslie’s team placed first, and she praised her teammates for their hard work and dedication.
Leslie expressed her gratitude to the mentors at Capital One for sharing their knowledge and insights during the competition, as well as to HACU and Capital One for investing in their futures and providing impactful growth opportunities.
According to her LinkedIn biography, Leslie has gained valuable experience through internships with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Yonkers Partners in Education.
In these roles, she mentored middle and elementary school students, collaborating with school staff to promote academic and personal growth.
Additionally, Leslie has served as a management student fellow with SEO Career. This organization offers coaching, training, and exposure to partner organizations in the financial services, technology, and corporate sectors.
Leslie also participated in the Fellows Program of America Needs You (ANY), which provides low-income, first-generation college students with essential tools to succeed academically and graduate.
