Lauren Denson is a Chiricahua Apache from the Chihene Ndé Nation in New Mexico and is also Latina. She is paving the way as a technical engineer and manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
According to her LinkedIn page, Lauren graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and computer science in 2013.
During her time in college, she provided technical support to the Distance Education Network for engineering students, managing course videos and updating the DEN Blackboard system.
In 2013, Lauren worked as a software engineering and development intern before spending six and a half years at The Walt Disney Company as an entertainment character.
She joined NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2014 and has since taken on positions of increasing responsibility.
NASA highlighted Lauren’s contributions in a social media ad, noting that her work serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of underrepresented individuals in STEM fields.
