The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is calling for submissions from Indigenous artists.

The organization is seeking to commission artwork to promote the annual virtual gathering of the SACNAS Indigenous Wellness Community. The theme for 2025 is “Indigenous Research & Methodologies.”

The deadline for submissions is March 14, 2025.

This is a great opportunity for artists passionate about creating, sharing, and celebrating Indigenous culture and stories.

SACNAS welcomes a variety of artistic expressions, including paintings, digital art, beadwork, and sculpture.

If you are an Indigenous artist, consider applying to showcase your work at the 2025 CommUNITY and Wellness in STEM Virtual Gathering.

SACNAS’s 4th Annual Indigenous CommUNITY and Wellness in STEM Virtual Gathering took place September 19, 2024.

The topic was focused on data sovereignty with Indigenous professionals.

In celebration of Native American Heritage Day, which marks the culmination of Native American Heritage Month during November, SACNAS encouraged the STEM community to recognize and honor the rich histories, enduring resilience, and invaluable contributions of Native communities.

SACNAS celebrated the strength and wisdom passed down through generations, highlighting the pride in heritage that continues to empower Native scientists, scholars, and leaders.

The organization also aimed to uplift Native voices, traditions, and innovations in STEM and beyond.
