Florida Atlantic University (FAU) has announced that the College of Engineering and Computer Science, in collaboration with the FAU College of Education, has secured a grant of $9.96 million from the U.S. Department of Education.
This funding will support the launch of the Advancing Career Choices for Employment Success in Technology (ACCESS-Technology) project.
Over the next five years, the initiative aims to increase the participation of youth and adults with disabilities in high-demand technology jobs.
The program will offer career counseling, work-readiness training, and certifications in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and 3D printing, with a strong focus on inclusivity and accessibility.
Recently, “Engineer the Future Day” was held at the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
This event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to explore the numerous possibilities within the college.
Participants interacted with faculty and students, engaged in groundbreaking projects, and began envisioning their futures in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, ocean engineering, and sustainability.
They toured state-of-the-art laboratories, learned about various student projects, connected with university support services, and discovered the opportunities available through the college.
