These on-the-ground hubs in Miami combine access to HP technology with learning support for local youth. Through targeted initiatives, a new partnership will provide young people with the technology, training, digital skills, and mentorship they need to unlock opportunities in the digital economy.
This week, a group of young individuals from Miami-based tech talent accelerators, which focus on creating career pathways and workforce development through computer science and digital skills, were invited to the Grand Prix circuit to meet Lewis Hamilton.
The group toured the Scuderia Ferrari HP Team garage and the F1 paddock, engaging with industry insiders about the opportunities and skills necessary for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)-related careers.
Additionally, they witnessed the launch of a multi-year partnership at the F1 Miami Grand Prix circuit, a significant venue for the Sir Lewis Hamilton global foundation, Mission 44.
Founded by seven-time Formula One World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, Mission 44 is a charitable foundation that drives change so every young person can thrive in school and access quality STEM careers.
In a press release, HP Inc. stated that the partnership aims to enhance access to the technology and skills needed for STEM careers.
With the partnership, HP has launched an online Future of Work Skills Hub, designed to equip learners and educators with the tools required to succeed in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
The online portal offers a variety of skills courses, including AI, data science, and business leadership.
In collaboration with Mission 44, HP provides resources to help educators understand and utilize generative AI in education.
This partnership aims to unite Mission 44’s commitment to inclusivity in STEM with HP’s goal of accelerating digital equity for 150 million people globally by 2030.
Together, they aim to equip adolescents and adults with the skills to succeed in the future workforce.
The initial focus will be supporting two Miami-based tech hubs: America on Tech is an early pipeline tech talent accelerator that helps create career pathways for young people. At the same time, Miami EdTech focuses on workforce development through computer science and digital skills.
Michele Malejki, global head of social impact at HP Inc. and executive director of the HP Foundation, highlighted the collaboration’s potential by stating that HP’s ability to shape the future of work through technology, combined with Mission 44’s passion for impactful change, creates a powerful partnership. Through the new HP Future of Work Skills Hub and support for local NGOs and educators, they empower the next generation with essential tools for success.
Carlos Vazquez, founder of Miami EdTech, emphasized that technology is central to their mission of empowering underrepresented young people.
With the support of HP and Mission 44, they now have more resources to teach, providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in STEM fields.
Jessica Santana, CEO of America on Tech, expressed pride in partnering with Mission 44 and HP to shape a meaningful tech education ecosystem in Miami.
Together, they invest in young people’s potential by ensuring they have access to resources, mentorship, and opportunities needed to thrive in the innovation economy. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating pathways that empower the next generation of tech leaders.
