For the first in history, America’s most-watched television show will feature Hispanic co-headliners. According to the Shakira Media Channel on YouTube, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will headline what’s expected to be a historic Super Bowl halftime performance. The two stars held a news conference in Miami and gave a preview of what we can expect on Sunday night.
“The two Super Bowl teams are running by women,” Lopez said at the news conference. “Two Latinas doing this at this time in this country … it’s just very empowering,” Lopez added. “I’m very proud to be able to help set and push for that message.”
Other Hispanic headliners performing around the game are rapper Pitbull during pregame festivities, and Demi Lovato, who will perform the national anthem.
