The May 11 commencement at Arizona State University (ASU) celebrated the university’s first virtual ceremony. According to ASU, some 12, 000 of more than 16,000 graduates joined the fight against the coronavirus, whether by volunteering in their home cities, in research working on virus-fighting tools, or by continuing to study, learn and keep the university moving forward.
California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) will be holding its annual Research Week virtually May 11-15. According to CSUSB’s Office of Student Research, many of the week’s activities will be conducted through Zoom video conferencing, which can be accessed by registering on the website.
Commencement week at Texas A&M University-Kingsville also runs May 11-15. All videos can be viewed on the web page.
California State University, Dominguez Hills will host its recognition week May 11-15 virtually as well.
The University of Texas at El Paso says it will celebrate spring graduates with remote activities during May 16-17. According to UTEP, more than 2,300 graduates and candidates are eligible to receive degrees, with 630 of those expected to earn graduate degrees, including 98 doctoral candidates.
